BOARD MEETING –

I. American Legion Program

We discussed the American Legion and Junior Legion Charters.

II. Treasurer Update

The League’s estimated balance is $65,000; hoping to get an updated report
from Ed Rowen at our next meeting.

III. Parade & Bat-a-thon Day 5/10/08

Arrangements for the parade are in place. Bat-a-thon planning has started; player packets will be distributed by 4/12/08.

IV. Fields

We expect field enhancement work to be completed soon at Chandler and Pickering. At Helen Randle, Glenn Seibert will obtain a cost estimate from Superior Turf and Tom Rogers will discuss same with Bill Wert. Phil Tully has the “No Dogs” signs for Chandler. Tom Rogers will contact Leck regarding removal of lock boxes at Chandler.


V. Uniform Update

Mark Bartlett plans to distribute uniforms to our league commissioners by March 30.

VI. Equipment Update

George Whitney reported that we are current with equipment and costs are on target. George will order an additional shed for Chandler (approved by Board), two string winders, one dry line marker and two Rubbermaid lock boxes.

VII. Chandler Field & Shack

Tom Rogers will contact Mark Hughes to discuss improvement projects.

VIII. Background Checks for Coaches

Bill Reading has completed this process.

IX. Pictures

We must secure a commitment from Newtown Middle School for pictures on April 5. Bill Reading will issue the team schedule.

X. Miscellaneous

Dave Buten will be researching website capability for pitch counts and AL/NL umpire coordination.
