BOARD MEETING –  

I.                   Treasurer UpdateCRNAA will carry forward an estimated balance of $5,000 into the new fiscal year that starts on 10/1/08.  Treasurer will separate financials for Babe Ruth and Legion going forward.   

II.                Boundaries

            No Legion boundaries have been determined yet.  For Babe Ruth, the

            boundary is Newtown Boro.  For residents of Newtown Township, players

can choose ours or Tri Township.

III.             Babe Ruth 2009 

Lots of discussion on how to prevent cancelled/postponed games due to insufficient number of players caused by school ball and other conflicts; we need to evaluate this issue further.  As a start for improving the situation, the Board voted 5-3 for a re-draft in Babe Ruth….as well as Majors, National and American Divisions….in 2009 and beyond. 

IV.              Legion Managers  

The following appointments were made:

*Bob Maley- American Legion Manager (2 years)

*Brian Steutz- Junior Legion Manager (2 years)

*Phil Tully- 13 Yr Old Manager (1 year)

V.                 Fall Ball 2009 

Preliminary interest in starting a league was mentioned.

VI.              Annual Meeting

Tentatively scheduled for September 30 @ NMS 7

VII.           Hall of Fame 

The Board is considering ways to recognize volunteers that have made significant contributions to CRNAA.

VIII.        Website Updates & Enhancements 

An updated President’s Letter has been posted. 

Dave Buten will update the Coaches Link to include rules and safety manuals; future updates will enable Coordinators to update games.  Kevin O’Shea will forward Legion and Senior Babe links to Dave for posting.

IX.              Big Field Clinics 

Clinics to help players transition to the 90 foot fields will be conducted by Dan Kusters and are scheduled for 9/14, 9/21, 9/28 and 10/5 at Helen Randle Field….11:30 am – 12:30 pm.  Registration info can be found at www.crnll.com

X.                 Field Cleanup and Winterization

Sunday, September 7 at 9 am for shacks, sheds and fields at Chandler and Pickering…Tom Rogers will contact Donna and Danielle to prepare/close shacks.  George Whitney has started equipment collection and will store the equipment in the new shed and bathrooms.  Newtown Boro will winterize the Pickering Shack.

XI.              Woll Tract 

Project was approved by Township with lights without funding for lights.

XII.           Sprinklers 

Bill reading obtained a quote for $8,250 to install sprinklers at Chandler (front and back fields).  The Board wants another quote.
